During the clinical training we will explore the eight pathologies that states can have in depth including diagnosis and treatment strategies for each pathology.

Day Three

Day Three focusses on dissonant states and how to ensure that the client is able to bring the best state out for the situation that is brought to therapy.

Day Four

Day Four specifically focuses on addressing states that are vaded with confusion and the identification of rumination as a symptom of this. Demonstrations and tools for helping states vaded with confusion move out of angst will be learnt including 'introject speak' and 'changing chairs.'

Day Five

Day Five focusses on states vaded with fear or rejection and their common link with retro avoiding states. 'Introject speak' will be further refined as well as the expression, removal, relief technique.

Day Six

Day Six we move onto states vaded with dissapointment and retro states. Retro states are states that were once very useful in allowing the client to get their needs met. They can be retro original who started in childhood or retro avoiding.

Day Seven

Day Seven focuses on ethics and the therapeutic relationship before moving into mapping. Mapping is a tool that allows clients to be aware of the resources they have available. It is also an opportunity if the client would like to work with states that come up during the mapping who have a pathelogical presentation.

Day Eight

Day Eight we will be looking at working with pain and somatic presentations including looking at hints that tell us if a pain is organic or psychosomatic as well as illnesses that may or may not have an organic component. We also look at resistance and how the therapist can best work with resistance to ensure effective therapy.

Day Nine

Day Nine looks at the separation sieve technique, it is discussed and taught before moving onto discussions regarding introjects. Introjects are not states or part of the person, they can be described as a way a state percieves someone or something external to themself. States within the same person may have different introjects of the same external person or thing. For example a state vaded with rejection may see their mother as uncaring or harsh where as a more mature older state may see this same mother as a survivor and strong. Other personalised introjects (OPI's) and creative form identities (CFI's) will also be discussed as part of the broader topic of what lies within.

Day Ten

Day Ten our final day together. Today we finish where we started with dissonant states and developing techniques for anchoring to allow clients to be able to effectively call out the most appropriate and useful state for the situation. We will then move onto the final review of our previous nine days before our final practise and demonstration.
